Huh? Republican imposters make a deal with the Dhimmies over the extra-Constitutional use of filibusters for blocking judicial nominees? A deal based on trust?
[obligatory pause for the cacophony of laughter to subside]
If these seven Pubbies haven't realized yet that you can't rely on the Left to be honorable when keeping an agreement, they will never learn. This is especially true when the topic of the deal regards the Left's final bastion of imposing their Socialist agenda on a mostly conservative nation &mdash the judicary (Okay, okay, subservience and deference to the UN is in there somewhere, too). After losing 7 of the last 10 presidential elections, and now having lost control of the Senate and the House, the judiciary is all they have left. Think they will keep their word — knowing full well that allowing Republican nominees to take court positions will eat away the Left's control in that establishment as well? Gimme a break!
Here's a suggestion for those seven RINO's: pack your bags. Your days of subverting the will of the people you represent are numbered. Allowing the Constitution to continue to be trampled for plain obstructionist tactics is not what I call "conservative".
Dhimmies have promised *ahem* to limit filibustering of judicial nominees to "extraordinary" circumstances. I can only echo what I've read around the net this morning: the reason these judges were filibustered in the first place was because of their "extreme" viewpoints. Striking a deal with the Left which leaves this tool in their toolbox has allowed them to pull another fast one on the entire country. Too bad the Pubbies cannot see this for the blaring duplicitousness that it is. This is akin to telling a career burglar that they can only break into houses in the rich district... Rich is subjective, and so is "extraordinary". This easily manipulated agreement can be broadly applied to every nominee the Dhims don't like. Way to get yourselves snowed again, GOP. Good job.
Only one thing remains for these Pubbies to make the deal complete: Squeal like a pig, boy!
Scrap this worthless "trust-based" deal. It isn't worth the wink-winks and nod-nods it was founded on.
What about killing the whole problem by cutting it off at the root? The "root" problem is the way the filibuster has been redefined — by the Senate itself. Reinstate the original use of "filibuster", ridding those lazy politicians of a method of blockage using the currently defined "filibuster-sans-speaking". Make the bastards keep the floor if they want to filibuster. I guarantee there will not be a single Spin-ator that will keep the floor for more than a day or two (let alone 4+ years).
Ok. My rant is over. Now go read more good stuff on this. Michelle Malkin has some good bloggage, here and here. She also provides several links to other opinions from across the blogoshpere.
